Everest Base Camp Trek (US$ 1800)
Duration: 18 - 21 days
Elevation: up to 5400 metres (18,400
feet)
At the end of
your ten-week stay in Mussoorie, you will have the option of
participating in a three-week trek in the Everest Region of the
Himalayas in Nepal. The Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the most
popular in the region and is on the must-do list of trekking
enthusiasts. It is a challenging and worthwhile journey through which
you can experience the innermost layer of the Himalayas. Walking along
the path, you often encounter an overload of aesthetic pleasure with
the mesmerizing sight of the highest mountain range in the world. You
will also have the opportunity of interacting with indigenous mountain
communities virtually untouched by the modern world.
As a part of
our acclimitization process we also trek to the base camp of Amadablam
(22,349 ft). If you happen to be a tad more adventurous, you can add Gokyo
Lake via the Chola Pass to the Everest Base Camp Trek for no
additional cost.
Fitness Level
This trek is
demanding but does not require that you have any previous trekking or
mountaineering experience. If you participate in our weekend hikes and
explore the hillside in your free time, we believe you will be in good
condition for the trek. Being in Mussoorie at an altitude of 6000 ft.,
you are well acclimatized to start the trek at Lukla (9380 ft). We
encourage you to be physically active while you’re here, and once the
trek begins you will acclimatize further along the way.
